It's okay to sometimes feel lost and like you have no direction in your life. Here are some ways to help you find where you want to go....

There may be some times in your life when you don't know what you want or where you want to your life to go. All you know is that you feel stagnant and you want to move forward. You just don't know what 'forward' looks like.

You feel lost and all the while, you see people around you moving forward with purpose and aim. Everyone looks like they have a clear vision and know what they want. While you feel lost, lacking motivation and cannot see things develop further than where they are.

Here's a secret though.....Life hasn't always been easy for the people around you. There have been times when they didn't know what they wanted from their lives. They have questioned their dreams and wondered if they were better suited for something else.

If you're feeling lost, that's okay. Here are simple things to do to try and find your footing and get back some direction in your life....

ᴿᴹ Attend courses

Explore any courses you may be interested in. Once enrolled, you will gain so much more knowledge on topics you were already interested in. You also get to meet new people and so a great network opportunity too.

ᴿᴹ Building up experience

Boost your experience in any you that you can. Look our for opportunities including volunteering, apprenticeships, internships, etc.. It gives you a taster of working in different industries and it gives you a better understanding about the sectors you would like to be working in. Keep your work portfolio active whilst trying to find out what it is you want to be doing.

ᴿᴹ Read books

Take some time out to read as much as you can. It can be fictional or non-fictional books. Reading is a good way to developing your brain. It can also help boost your creativity too.

ᴿᴹ Networking

Have conversations with people. You will open yourself to other people's experiences and get to know the struggles that they faced too. This may not always provide you with finding a solution but it will help you feel less alone in how you feel.

ᴿᴹ Motivation videos

YouTube has so many motivational video (Ted Talks are a particular favourite). And while this may not magically give you the answer you want, it can feel like a pep-talk and boost up your motivation.
