Five Facts about International Women's Day

Very often people pose the question, 'when is men's day?' and 'why do women need a day to be celebrated?' Without getting into too much into politics, the answer to this is simply that women have had to fight harder to get the same rights as men.

While, we are in a very fortunate position, we still are not equals with our male counterparts, take the wage gap for instance. So this one day marks a tribute to all those women who paved the way forward for us. They were strong and brave and made their voices heard so we could live independently and choose the life we want.

So, let's raise a toast to the ladies of the past. And to the ladies of the present and future, we may still have a fight in our hands but we are so much closer to a fairer and equal world than we have ever been. And that is something to celebrate!
