Garson Farm

Garson Farm, situated in Esher, Surrey and just a stone's throw away from London is one to visit this summer. The farm covers over 155 acres, producing 28 crops and with over 100 varieties.

Garson Farm is a pick-your-own farm, where you can freely roam the fields and pick your choice from whatever available crops they have available on the day. You have to book ahead of time by going online and paying £5 per person and without this, you won't be allowed on the farm. You can go there by foot but it is recommended to drive there as there can be a considerable amount to walk from field to field.

It's a lot of fun to see all the different fruits and vegetables and then to make your selection. You do not have to bring any bags or boxes with you as there is plenty to grab and use there. Once you have selected all the items you want to buy, you go towards the exit and have the products weighed up. You also get the entry fee discounted (provided that you keep hold of the voucher on the receipt!)

Finish the day by visiting the shop and restaurant next door. The shop is large and well stocked with various items from clothing, gardening tools and food to name just a few items. Well worth checking out the store as well as the farm. And of course, after all the walking and scouting out the best crops, you will no doubt be exhausted so a nice cup of tea or coffee and a scone at the restaurant will be much welcomed break.
