Looking for a new job is one of the most stressful things about being an adult. You need that job to fund your life and sometimes it can feel like all doors are closing on you. But it doesn't have to be that way. You can cast a wider net and increase your chances of finding your next job.
Here are the places I look at when looking for a new post:
All professionals must have a LinkedIn account. It is your online CV where you can connect with colleagues and other people from similar industries and and in similar occupations. You can scroll through job listings on LinkedIn and start applying.
Indeed
You can look through Indeed for your next job. You can save your CV onto Indeed for easy applications.
Reed
Job boards such as Reed, Monstor, Office Angels, etc are a good way to look for new job postings. If you aren't sure about what kind of work you want to do, you can scroll through the job listings on these sites to give you a clearer idea of the sort of work that is available and the jobs that you would like to be doing. Some of these job boards are part of a recruitment/ temporary agency. You can get signed up with them, get into some temporary jobs and build up your work experience as well.
Google Jobs
Google Jobs is another great way of exploring different job opportunities. You can look through different industries, locations and salaries and start applying
Directly to the company
Looking for a new job can be somewhat daunting. While you are on the job hunt, make note of the different companies you come across that you would be interested in. Check out their website and look at the 'Vacancies' or 'Career' section and apply directly. Those who apply directly to the company rather than through job boards usually are in a better position of getting hired.
Charities
It is worth looking at different charities as an option for your next role. Charities often have different positions available and some of which might be related to the area that you would like to be working in. Keep a list of the charities that you would be interested in working for and apply to them directly.
