Recipe: Avocado on toast

Avocado on toast is modern day daylight robbery. Let's take care of the purse strings and make this one at home.

INGREDIENTS:

- 1 ripe avocado

- 2 slices of sourdough bread

- butter

- garlic paste

- garlic powder

- chilli flakes

- rock salt

- mixed ground pepper

- balsamic salad dressing

Optional: poached eggs, sun-dried tomatoes


METHOD:

- Lightly toast two slices of sourdough bread

- In a bowl, scoop out the flesh of an avocado

- Add tsp of garlic powder, chilli flakes and mixed ground pepper to the avocado

- Smash the avocados and spices together. You can either use the back of a spoon or you can get messy and use your hands. I prefer the later.

- Once your toasts are ready, put butter on them

- Add some garlic paste onto the toast (optional)

- Put mashed avocado on toast

- Optional step; add poached eggs or sun-dried tomatoes onto the avocado toast

- Sprinkle rock salt and pepper on top

- Drizzle balsamic salad dressing
