INGREDIENTS:
- 300g of plain flour
- 200g of butter (softened at room temperature)
- 100g of granulated sugar
- A few drops of vanilla extract (optional)
METHOD:
- Preheat oven to 160C/ 300F/ Gas Mark 2
- Cream the sugar into the butter
- Gently sift in the flour to the mix
- Once all the flour is mixed in, use your hands to combine the mixture
- Roll your dough out onto a clean surface and use a cookie cutter to make your biscuit shapes. I used a heart shaped cookie cutter.
- Place biscuits into the fridge for at least 15 mins. This helps the biscuit to set and is easier to work with.
- Bake for approximately 25-30 mins or until light brown (personal choice of how brown you want it)
- Once you've finished baking, place on a wire rack to cool before serving.
I love this recipe as it is so easy and quick to do and all the ingredients are most likely stocked in your kitchen pantry already. What's more, you can have the biscuits on their own, with a cup of hot tea or make it the cheeky accompaniment to some delicious crème brûlée.
