A new year is a perfect time to pick up a new skill. If you're lost on what skills you want to learn, here are some suggestions...
ᴿᴹ New language
Picture this; you're on holiday with your friends in Spain. You're sat at a swanky restaurant and a waiter approaches the table. You fluently place your order in Spanish. You turn to see your friends; they all look stunned and are very impressed by your Spanish. That could be you in a year's time.
ᴿᴹ Driving
Driving creates so many untapped opportunities and experiences. You get more job opportunities open to you, you can go on road trips, eat at a Drive-Thru, go on a safari trip, etc.. Don't be intimidated by the wheel. Book a theory test (I hear that there are still long queues for this), download apps, get theory books, watch YouTube videos and book practical lessons with an instructor.
ᴿᴹ Musical instrument
Have you always wanted to play a musical instrument; piano, drums, guitar, etc.? You may have attempted to learn something in the past but abandoned dreams of becoming a musician when life got busy. Now is a great time to dust off that old guitar in the corner of your room and start practicing your chord skills.
ᴿᴹ Textiles
Imagine you on the sewing machine, being able to alter clothes to your size and style. You will no longer to confined to whatever the stores have to offer you. You can hem your dresses to fit your style and you don't have to fork out money to get a tailor to do this for you.
ᴿᴹ Cooking/ Baking
Expand your palette by cooking or baking something new. You can schedule a time for this on a weekly basis. Explore online cooking sites (BBC Good Food is a favourite of mine!) and YouTube cooking channels and start building up your own catalog of recipes.
ᴿᴹ Online content creation
If you have a hobby you enjoy, then why not share it by creating some online content. You can use social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, etc.) and even create a website to share your passion.
