Facebook is my most used social media platform. I use it like a personal scrapbook, I share life updates with my close friends and family and post pictures of events and trips I have been on. Easiest way to stay updated on people's lives who you still want in your life but also too busy to have active communication with.
You can instantly share photos with your followers on Instagram. You can add a short caption and include some hashtags and tags to make your photo and profile more searchable. You can also choose to keep your profile private and just share pictures with your close friends and family.
YouTube
I love YouTube. There are lots of videos on lots of topics on YouTube and you can use it however you want to; you can follow your favourite content creator, do some research, watch podcasts or get some recommendations on something you are wanting to try.
TikTok
Short videos (up to three minutes long) can be viewed on TikTok. Very addictive and entertaining. Useful for people who are looking for some life hacks.
All professionals must have a LinkedIn account. This is your online CV which people can see a snapshot of your career progression, your academic qualifications and your work history.
Snapchat
Snapchat is a battery drainer. Use it to share stories that live on your feed for 24 hours. You can use fun filters on your photos or videos. Also there is a thing called Snapchat map, which is super creepy....it can tell where you are and if you are commuting, it can tell if you are walking or in a vehicle; I don't know how it does it but it is kinda creepy!!
Perfect for sharing your opinions in a few words. Best used when watching a TV series and you really want to share your ideas and thoughts with a fellow viewer.
Reddit is an online forum with many types of headings and subheadings. People share their dilemmas and seek advice from other people. People who leave comments can vote on the advices that people leave for the original poster.
Myspace
I'm going to call MySpace the Grandfather of social media. It's hardly ever used these days. Musicians used this platform to promote their music and fans used to follow.
