ᴿᴹ Write yourself a love letter
This might seem weird at first, but write yourself a letter where you tell yourself all the things you appreciate about you. This is an entirely personal exercise and no one will be reading the letter. Write how proud you are of yourself for the things you have accomplished. Tell yourself you're proud of the effort you put in for all the things that you didn't quite achieve. You are proud that you still tried. You put your best foot forward and you showed up for yourself and no one can take that away from you. You love your energy, your focus, the way you get excited by things that no one else notices. After writing yourself a love letter, you will appreciate all the things about yourself that you were ignoring.
ᴿᴹ Have 'me' time
Always make time for yourself. If you need to have an excuse to do this, then that's what you need to do. Take an hour or so in the day to do something that is purely dedicated to you. Read a book, watch TV, go for a walk, draw something, etc.. Whatever it is that you choose to do, do it alone and do it for you. It's a great way to hit the reset button and to reconnect with yourself.
ᴿᴹ Making small changes
Make the changes that you've always wanted to but have been putting off. Know that anything you want in your life is about putting in the work, having patience to see it through and having faith that you will get the desired outcome. Be patient if things seem harder than you envisioned. Never focus or sight of your goals; Rome was not built in a day so do not expect to see an instant change but keep in mind that every little thing that you do is a step towards making a huge change. Life is not only about learning things and working, but it is also about discovering things about yourself and determining what you want from yourself and from your life.
ᴿᴹ Write a letter to someone who hurt you
You're carrying the hurt of a past trauma. You want to speak with the person and let them know how they made you feel. But you can't. You don't know how to get in contact with them, you're not sure what you'd say and you don't want to look like you can't move on from things. And all the while, you're letting the past pain hurt you more each day that passes. Write a letter to whoever hurt you. Tell them how you feel. Read the letter. This gives you an objective way of reflecting on things. You can still be hurt, but you can understand that the past is not a reflection of the person that you are or the life that you are meant to live.
