The friends you need to lose

Some friendships are for a season, some for a reason. Here are some of the friends you may have that you need to get rid of...

The User Friend

We all have that one friend who we only hear from when they need us. We haven't heard from them in 2 years and yet they feel comfortable enough to get in touch with you to borrow £15,000. This person is not a true friend.

The Self-Centred Friend

She doesn't mean to be annoying but she genuinely thinks that the world revolves around her. She is the girl who will call you at 2:00am to fill you in on her umpteenth break-up with her boyfriend of 12 years. She doesn't think that there is a life beyond her. If you are ever in a crisis, she is not your go-to girl. You know she won't show up for you if you ever need her.

The Mean Friend

Everyone has insecurities. A friend is someone who will accept you irrespective of the ill thoughts you have about yourself. However, if there is a 'friend' who keeps reminding you of your short comings or they keep bringing up your the things you are insecure about, this is not your friend and it's time to cut them out.

The Oblivious To Other People's Boundaries Friend

Your boundaries are your own. You form these based on the level of comfort you feel in your interactions with other people. The friend who continually disrespects your boundaries and is oblivious to how uncomfortable they make you feel is not a true friend and definitely someone to cull from your life.

The Flakey Friend

Whether she's prioritising her partner or work over you, one thing is clear is that she is incredibly flaky when it comes to the social plans you have made together. Sure, she's busy; but so are you. Your time is as important as hers and it's not okay for anyone to disrespect anyone's time. Continually flaking on the plans you have made is a subtle way of them telling you that their time is more important than you. And that is definitely not the case.

The Bad Mood Friend

Everyone is allowed to have a bad mood sometimes. But do you find that your friend is always being irritable around you? Do you find that your energy is being sucked out? Do you dread meeting your friend? Perhaps it's time to cull this friend now/ Besides, friends should not be there to make you feel bad.
