Love them or hate them, inside the homes of all beauty addicts, lies a draw of unused samples.

I love make-up shopping, discovering new products, speaking with MUAs and trialing out things I've never heard of before. And as a cherry on top of an already pretty devine cake, I love it when a couple of sample products are placed in the bag.
That being said, I know that not everyone has the same experience of make-up and beauty samples. So, here are the ways I make the samples work for me...
ᴿᴹ Find a designated place for sample products
Designate a spot for all your sample products, It can be a box, a pencil case or in a drawer. Find a place that works for you; ideally something that you can access easily and also not forget about.
ᴿᴹ Regularly shop your sample stock
Be sure to check through your samples from time to time. See if there is a product in your sample kit that you want to try but aren't sure you want to commit to, a new foundation for instance. Is there one in your sample collection? Give it a try now and see how you like it. A sample pot usually has about two to three uses. Take advantage of that and see how it suits you. Also, if you do a regular stock take of your samples, you can be sure to use products you're running low on. For instance, do you have just enough lotion to moisturise your arms but not the rest of you? Shop your samples and you may find enough lotion to moisturise the rest of your person.
ᴿᴹ Fill up your bag
Drop in a few samples into your handbag. You will likely want to keep hand cream, lip balm, lipstick, perfume in your bag and if they are all in a sample size, then that's perfect and you get more space for the more important things you'll be needing in your day.
ᴿᴹ Hand luggage
Ever since the 100ml restrictions on products you can take on hand luggage came into place, make-up samples feel like they are sent from Heaven. Small and compact and definitely fitting within the 100ml allowance.
ᴿᴹ Share
If you have some samples that you think a friend would like, pass the sample love around. You can even do a sample-swap and explore products you never heard of before.
ᴿᴹ Discard
Sampling should be fun and it is an opportunity to try out products in your own space without the pressure to buy. Don't feel that you have to keep and use every item that comes your way. Instead, discard any item you know you won't be using or anything that you don't think you will enjoy using.
